Jean C. Glafenheim Younts
Personal
2. I was married to Earl Dempster for 21 years, and he died at the age of 44. We had two children. I am remarried to Gordon Younts and have been married 22 years. I also have three step-children. I have five step-grand children and one step great grand child.
1 started my own pet sitting business at the age of 59, when most people are considering retirement. A pet sitter doesn't know what holidays or weekends are and sometimes you leave the house before 6:30a.m. and come home late at night. I have climbed six foot fences, and crawled thru doggie doors and thankfully didn't get stuck. Even if I have to clean up all kinds of messes and walk In ALL kinds of weather, I wouldn't trade my job for anything. Animals are so loving, making you feel like a special person.
My husband and I hiked the Grand Canyon about 15 ears ago. It was a thrilling experience to see such beauty. I took aerobics, and climbed 21 flight of stairs at work, but this never prepared me for the hike. We spent the night in bunk houses at the bottom of the canyon at Phantom Ranch. It took us seven hours to hike down and 10 hours up. Sore and exhausted, we reached the top of the trail.
6. My favorite place to travel Is the southern part of Germany. My parents
came to the United States when they were teenagers. I know very few of my relatives. Most of my father's relatives were behind the Iron the Curtain, so we were unable to visit them. Germany Is a very beautiful country with castles, churches, and walled villages.
Happiness Is being content with yourself, what you have, loving the person to whom you are
married, and being at peace with God.
I am more like my mother. She was a very honest, moral person. She not only believe In the entire Bible, but she was a wonderful example to her family.
Memories
I will always remember the store behind Ellsworth Elementary School. We would get snacks and different kinds of food to set. I was in Naperville two years ago, and wanted to see If the store still existed. I was very disappointed when I saw it was a private residence.
I loved going to Prince Castle for ice cream.
9. We always attended church several times on Sunday. My parents
were from Germany, and many of their German friends came to visit.
I would like to know who did the captions under our high school pictures.
One of mine said speed demon, which has caused me to hide my annual
from my parents, and children until they were older. I have owned three
corvettes, and I have slowed down a little bit, I think. Everyone has at
least one bad habit, don't they? Another caption- you can't see the forest
for the trees, and I still live in the woods In a log cabin with my husband,
Doberman, and cat. World wide traveler is true too. I have been to
Germany three times, England, twice to France, twice to Italy, Switzerland,
Austria, Israel, and to most of the National Parks in the US. It's amazing
how true those three captions under my senior class picture came true.
