I have one grandchild, a 6 year old boy, Jesse Blumenthal.
I retired as a Psychologist in 1999. After retirement I took up oil painting, which I love. Prior to that, I never thought I would get a doctorate!
I enjoyed taking my son and daughter to Portugal in 1989. The other great experience was visiting my son Mark and his wife in China in 2002. Yet another wonderful time was when my father and I took a long cruise into the Norwegian fjords in 1994.
I volunteer at the local hospital in the day surgery department. My pet cause is breast cancer research.
Happiness – feeling whole, enjoying my relationship and family, being healthy.
Thinking back on Naperville – Shady, tree-lined streets, hard work in school, family life.
I don’t know if I have a hidden talent, but I love to paint.
Title of my autobiography would be “Too Late Smart.”
Turned out like my Mom or Dad? God forbid.
Words to live by – Always do the hard things first.
Memories:
Favorite memory is swimming at the Centennial pool with friends.
Ozzie’s Drug Store would be the one I would like to revisit.
Influential faculty – the Feeney brothers, one taught me to play chess, the other made World History fascinating and important.
Reliving one hour of high school – going to the cemetery with our German teacher (and Sibylle Schneider).
Fashion statement: Bobby socks, plaid wool pleated skirts, hoops.
Favorite place to eat: White Castle.
