This is our family photo taken August '09 -- Judy Westlund Rosbe, husband, Bob Rosbe -- daughters, Kristina (born 1966) and Heather (born 1969) and their spouses and children. Kristina is married to Andrew Auerbach and they are both physicians on the staff of UCSF Medical School in San Francisco. They have two children, Ben (age 6) and Maggie (age 4). Heather and her husband, William Vrattos, live in NYC and have three sons: Charlie (age 9), Gus (age 8) and Will (age 5). Bill is a partner in a hedge fund, York Capital Management, in NYC.  Heather worked on Wall Street -- she has an MBA in finance and a CPA, but is currently a full time mother.

We have lived in Marion, Massachusetts for 33 years. We are both retired (I practiced law for over 30 years), but Bob is still on the Ocean Spray board. I am president of our local historical society and am writing my fifth book on local history. My first four books were published by Arcadia Publishing, and this one will be published by the History Press. We are trying to travel as much as we can while we are still active.

Best,

Reunion Questionaire

Bob and I have lived in Marion, Massachusetts since 1977. Marion is 60 miles south of Boston and 45 miles west of Providence, Rhode Island. I am not sure how many miles I will be traveling to our reunion in Naperville, but I know that I won't be traveling the farthest. Janice is coming from Honolulu, which is much farther away.

We have two daughters, Kristina (43) and Heather (40). We have five grandchildren ranging in ages from four to ten. Kristina, a pediatric ENT surgeon, lives in Greenbrae, CA and she and her husband, Andrew Auerbach (a Hospitalist), are on the staff of UCSF medical school in San Francisco. They have two children: Benjamin (7) and Maggie (4). Kris and Andy met at Dartmouth Medical School. Heather and her husband, Bill Vrattos, live in New York City and have three sons: Charlie (10), Gus (9) and Will (5). Heather and Bill met their freshmen year at Dartmouth College. Bill is a partner in a hedge fund and Heather is currently at home full-time. Before children, she received an MBA in finance, a CPA and worked as an analyst on Wall Street They purchased a home in Marion (a couple of blocks away) and Heather and her boys come to Marion for the summer, while Bill comes from New York City on the weekends. Their three boys spend a lot of the summer swimming in our pool.

Two years ago I retired after 31 years of practicing law. I spent 20 years practicing with large firms in Boston and had my own firm in Marion for the last 11 years, which was very satisfying. My husband retired as Chairman of the Board of Ocean Spray Cranberries, but is still on the board and heads up its audit committee. We are trying to travel as much as we can and have taken one-month trips to Sicily, China and Tibet, Southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Viet Nam, Cambodia) and India in the past two years. We plan to see as much of the world as we can while we are still active. We are hoping to go to Africa and South America next.

My athletic accomplishments are fairly minimal. I do have a passion for tennis, which I try to play as often as possible. I also go to our local "Y" and do yoga three mornings a week, and sometimes I go to Palates classes there, too, which result in my aching all over the next day.

Another "passion" of mine is our local historical society. I have been a director for over 30 years and its president, on and off, for over 11 years. I have written five local history books (type in "Rosbe" on Amazon.com for the names) about Marion and have enjoyed the writing process very much. I have also studied photography at a local university (University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth, MA campus) and have exhibited my work in several places including the New Bedford Art Museum, Marion Art Center and the Krause Gallery in Providence, RI.

My fond memories of Naperville are probably also fond memories of life in the 1950s, when we went to church twice on Sundays, played in the marching band, detassled corn, was a lifeguard and taught swimming at the Beach during the summers, sold popcorn at the local movie theater in the evenings, danced the jitterbug at high school dances, went to slumber parties where we tried to stay up all night (but never made it), sewed my own clothes, wore skirts with crinolines,  wore saddle shoes and white bucks and cardigan sweaters with the buttons in the back, was a member of a 4H club led by Mrs. Humphreys, and just hung out with friends at times.  Those were the best of times.
